So I’ve been super quiet on here the past couple of months.. That’s because my life has been taken over by my final project at uni! But alas; its all done and dusted now..

Theres plenty of exciting work left to be done, including end of year shows, and I’m hoping to push my new site live within the next fortnight..

In the meantime, here are three of my new paper toy designs that I worked on for my final project.. Make sure to check back for images of the other three and all of the other work I’ve been working on in my updated portfolio! :)

Yesterday I entered the Pop’Set Colours’ Attack Contest. They presented applicants with a plain net that they could do anything they wanted with. I love making paper toys, and I love character design so this was right up my street!

I created a little dragon character called Ember, and uploaded my design to their site. It has been verified and is now live so people can vote for it.

The 200 toys with the most votes will be exhibited at the D&AD New Blood show at the end of June, so please go to the site and vote for me if you get chance.

Here is another piece I’m working on for my dissertation. This one is to show off a few Typography effects that can be achieved using computer software.

I created this piece by drawing out the melting text in Illustrator, before importing it into Photoshop to add the 3d and lighting effects.

It was designed to be a portrait composition, but I have just extend the background to fit my blog profile. It will finish its life as an A5 page in the book I’m designing for my dissertation so will add some more pictures when I have got them printed!

While I have a bit of spare time, I’ll also treat you all to a sneak peek at one of my new paper toys that I’m developing.

This little guy is a Skateboarder who is part of a trio of Extreme Sports junkies. Hes a bit lonely at the moment, but it won’t be long before hes got company in the form of a Snowboarder and Surfer.
